Linda Brant opens “Victorian After Dark” at Trish’s Teas
Trish’s Teas will host a reception for “Victorian After Dark,” an exhibition of artwork by artist Linda Brant. Trish’s Teas is located at 4844 New Broad Street in Baldwin Park. The opening reception will be on Friday, October 2nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Brant’s varied career and prolific creative output includes metal sculpture, found object art, drawing and painting, often mixing the various mediums to achieve a desired effect. “I love stories,” explains Ms. Brant, citing early modern writers such as Hermann Hesse and Somerset Maugham as creative inspiration, as well as more recent authors like Jack Kerouac and Carlos Castaneda. “Ideas, feelings, experiences, even dreams,” she states, become “a starting point for creating imaginative and expressive 3-D images.” The flowing, organic lines in many of Brant’s pieces are derived from nature, yet these interweave with narrative elements as depicted in figures, often diminutive in scale, embedded within a vast, pointillistic universe. Brant’s new work for this show will feature watercolors, on which she draws with charcoal and ink, to express storylines or moments of evocative emotion. As a prelude to the Baldwin Park Art Stroll the following week, Trish’s Teas Feature Linda Brant’s work for one night only. Trish’s Teas offers Central Florida’s largest selection of premium loose teas and teaware, with leaves procured from worldwide tea estates. Trish’s Teas recently won WESH Channel 2’s “Best Orlando Tea Shop” award. << Back to News Listings Back to Top |
